secure2trust for Enterprises, with Audit

secure2trust for enterprises, offers the same award winning protection features as the client only version with the addition of a number of enterprise functions, including:

  • Audit of protected documents
  • Creation of security policy templates
  • Enforcement of security policies
  • Configuration of end user use of the secure2trust client
  • Super user creation
  • Hierarchical document access
  • Document recovery

The enterprise version of secure2trust can be run in combination with the Folder Monitor and the secure2trust API, each performing specific functions in protecting enterprise content.

secure2trust Enterprise Architecture

secure2trust Enterprise is a server-free designed architecture. The protection is applied on the desktop by the secure2trust client without the need for a license server.
The enforcement of security policies and secure2trust client use policies is configured using the secure2trust Manager, but applied and enforced on the desktop – again with no connection to a server needed.
Audit, is again performed on the desktop, independent of a server, but audit information is uploaded to a web-server or network server when connected.

secure2trust Enterprise Components

The enterprise version of secure2trust comes with 3 components:

  1. secure2trust Client – to apply security policies on the desktop (details of the security policies can be found here)
  2. secure2trust Manager – used to create various polices for automated protection of documents, document recovery, etc.
  3. secure2trust Audit server – used to collect information on the use of protected documents which is then passed to a SQL database for collation and reporting
1. The secure2trust Client

This application is installed on any desktop that documents will be protected on. As well as encrypting the document, the client controls the following:

  • Who can access the document
  • What can be done with the document after access

2. The secure2trust Manager
The secure2trust Manager is installed onto the machine of the secure2trust administrator. This component is used to create policy files which configure or create the following:

  • Document recovery
  • Super User
  • Hierarchical document access
  • Security policy template creation
  • Enforcement of security policies on the desktop
  • Audit parameters (what and who will be audited)

Subsequent configuration files are applied once resident on the client desktop.

3. The secure2trust Audit Server
The secure2trust Audit server runs on a server or web-server. Audit information is passed to the secure2trust audit server, by the secure2trust client whenever a user is connected to the network or internet (respectively).  When a user is not connected to the network/internet, the audit information is kept encrypted on the desktop.

Audit information is collected and collated by a SQL database ready for generating audit reports.

 

Example use of secure2trust
secure2trust protected documents can be used on the desktop and disseminated in content management systems, in collaboration portals , via email, removable media devices, etc. The protection will remain with the documents no matter what method is used click here for a pictorial representation of secure2trust being used in a online portal environment.
