Digital Signatures in Business Processes
There are many reasons to implement a digital signing solution as part of an electronic document process and including:
Business processes involving electronic documents often entail a number of steps involving several individuals and / or companies that are both internal and external to your organisation. secure2sign can work with your existing websites and Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel) to allow both internal and external users to digitally sign contracts, forms, web forms, etc. In addition, secure2sign, uniquely provides you with alternative methods to identify your signatories, including digital certificates, ATM/Bank/credit cards, logon tokens, Windows CardSpace, passwords, etc.
The combination of multiple choices of supported identity methods and the ease of use of the secure2sign signing application, offer a simple, secure and effective method of ensuring your business processes can be completed.
PKI-enablement
secure2sign can utilise your existing PKI infrastructure to apply digital signatures to Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and online forms. secure2sign is Identrust compliant and so meets the criteria for the IdentTrust rule-set. In addition secure2sign can check the certificate status at the time of signing to ensure that both legal weight is associated with the signature and compliance requirements are met.
Business to Consumer Signing
You may have designed a system that issues forms and contracts to customers but hit a hurdle when it comes to signing because your customers do not have a digital certificate. Digital certificates are generally used as the identifying method for digitally signing documents as they are seen to be able to securely identify an individual. However, digital certificates are not always appropriate for the user and this is particularly true for consumers and non-technical users that are outside of the control of your organisation. To this end, Avoco Secure can offer support for a number of different methods that can be used to identify a signer, including credit/ATM cards, logon tokens, Windows CardSpace, etc. Validation of the identity can be done using methods normally used online to check credit card status, etc. to ensure that legal weight is associated with the signature.
